    Pros: color

    Cons: size

    I have had this printer a little over a year (just out of warranty) and the Magenta cartridge is no longer printing. I have replaced it with 2 other cartridges (one refill and one new OEM) and it still will not print red.

    Great home printer, yes, HOME printer

    Pros: Ease of use, print quality, easy to wireless network

    Cons: b/w is a bit slow

    When we compared the higher end inkjet printers and the cost of ink in terms of pages, the logical choice was a color laser printer. After reviewing the stats, and learning why HP chose a single pass print system (why the b/w is slower compared to... other units), we installed the HP2600n for our home wireless network. True, the initial cartridge price seems steep, but when you consider through-put and the cost per page its really quite affordable for home use. We've found the print quality both b/w and color to be much better than most inkjet printers. We have installed a wireless printer adapter and now enjoy the benefits of a total home wireless system. Sitting on the patio sipping a cool drink while working on the laptop and being able to produce letters or reports remotely is a true joy, (the print station is in the basement). Read more Less

    Pros: Easy set up on network, great print quality

    Cons: none so far

    We replaced an older HP Color LaserJet with this model and find it useful for small print jobs. I use it to print our company letterhead and logo in color and using the letter for direct marketing. While we were less than enthusiastic with the earlie...r HP color laserjet, this replacement printer was quieter and the print quality for excellent for our needs. Read more Less

    Problematic Printer

    Pros: Inexpensive, print cost/quality

    Cons: Poor quality control in manufacturing

    The HP 2600N would be a nice, inexpensive way to get into a color laser printer if it didn't have serious problems with quality control during manufacturing. Apparantly the supplire of the magenta cartridge slots went cheap in order to get the co...ntract. We had two of these printers, both of which had the magenta cartridge slots go bad. The printers were purchased at different times from different retailers, so the likelyhood of them being from the same manufacturing batch is minimal. Pure and simply, the printer is flawed. Were it not for that serious issue, it would be a pleasure to recommend this printer as it provides good quality print at an inexpensive price. Read more Less

    Bad Printer

    Pros: Cost of the cartridges, easy to operate, low cost.

    Cons: Support is the biggest. You can never get to anyone to resolve an issue. Recently the red stopped working, I have exchanged the cartridges and it still doe snot print red. From reading the other reviews this seems to be a common problem with this printer.

    My biggest problem is with HP. On May 8th I spoke to them and they told me about an exchange program. They said that for 275.00 plus 20.00 for shipping they would send me a new printer, pay the shipping both ways, and I could send them my old printer.... I asked is there was a time limit on this offer. They said no. When I called on June 5th to order the new printer they said they were not doing that anymore. I was told that as long as I had my reference number they would be able to do this. They said the 2600n was no longer available. Apparently they are aware of the problems with this printer but instead of helping customers how with a new printer they do nothing. Is this the sign of a good company? I plan to buy another printer but it will not be an HP. Read more Less

    Graphic/Photo printing horrible

    Pros: good B/W printing

    Cons: Photo/Graphic printing sloppy

    I've had this printer for almost a year now and though I would rave on how long the ink lasted and how terrific the black and white printing is (even if it is very slow), I am very disappointed with the photo/graphic printing. Card stock printing... runs the ink and I cannot get a decent print quality on anything but plain paper. I would not recommend this printer for anything but black and white/plain paper printing.     Impresive Network Printer

    Cons: paper capacity

    great little printer for the $. Ideal for small to medium work groups. We just had several installed for color networking along with the HP1020 for desktop and it was a very inexpensive smooth transition.

    Cons: undependable undependable

    I bought this printer last August and went through 2 of them because of a transfer belt that keeps breaking in these printers. I did not buy the extended warentee and when the third new printer broke from the same thing, I was out of a $400 printer. ...So returning this over and over and still onl getting a year out of it.     Stinks with Labels

    Cons: Labels do not work well.

    When you run the labels through the ink fibers to not catch to the paper and it runs down the page.

    I HAVE PRINTED 1480 B/W PAPER & I STILL HAVE 45% FULL IN THE CARTRIDGE 4SHUR I AM PRINTING FULL TEXT PAGE ON 80G/M PAPER THIS IS AMAZING HOW COOL & GOOD @ PRINTING "NO PAPER STUCK & NO FAILD IN SENDING FILE TO PRINTER" I THINK ANY PROPLE...M HAPPENS WITH ANY ONE IS A BAD USE OF PRINTER NOT THE PRINTER IS BAD ANY ONE TRIES TO PRINT MUST CHOOSE THE CORRECT SITTING OR WILL HAVE A PROBLEMS IN PRINTING WITH ANY PRINTER .
