Today, guitarist Kevin Eubanks is a national star, part of The Tonight Show Orchestra, seen and heard by millions nightly. But 10 years ago, he was merely another struggling player, well-received by musicians but unknown except to the jazz hardcore. Consequently, this first-rate mix of originals and standards done by a good band that included his brothers Robin on trombone, Charles on acoustic piano, and David on bass was barely noticed. This reissue will undoubtedly attract attention because of Eubanks' status, but it merits examination because of the fluid lines, nimble chording, and expert solos from Eubanks, his brothers, saxophonist Ralph Moore, and drummer Roy Haynes.
