    Pros: Planet Terror

    Cons: Death Proof and no fake trailers

    I made the mistake of buying Planet Terror and Death Proof on DVD with the intention of trying to recreate the experience I missed in the theatre. No such luck. The trailers for "Thanksgiving," Werewolf Women of the SS" and "DON&#...39;T" are nowhere to be seen! The only trailer present is Rodrigues' "Machete" on the Planet Terror DVD, and I'm guessing that's only there because that film is actually being produced. "Grindhouse" should have been released as a single DVD collection WITH THE TRAILERS. I'm sure it will come out that way someday but when it does, you won't see me buying it. The Weinstein Company already stole my $35 once. Read more Less

    Pros: Good acting, unique approach to the genre make this movie a must exprience

    Cons: Rodriguez and Tarantino could have put more thought into the story.

    The movie lived up to a new old genre brought back to life. These movies started around the 60' and were named B rated movies, low budget, with lots of creativity to override its low budget. The movies i watched were from the 70's and into th...e 80's, yet this movie adds spice to this old genre, Tarantino and Rodriguez, co directed this 2 part flick, and I believe Rodriguez directed mostly this one, but I could be wrong. However the movie is a surprise in creating stunning gruesome effects, and good acting makes the story believable, if only for a moment. The story itself was cheezy, but it resembled the old B, rated flicks that this movie exploits. However I would wish a little more creativity was put into the story. Enjoy the movie. Read more Less

    This is really a great 70's style zombie film with lot's of Gore & action . It is what it is a Old school horror /zombie flick , funny one liners , lot's of great acttion . the way it was shot is brilliant , it really looks & has that g...rainy old school film look (which they explain how they did & why on dvd two ) . This movie was done right , great sounding 5.1 mix , good songs that really fit the mood of the film . Just a whole lot of fun . Read more Less

    The Grindhouse movies are a lot of fun and entertainment for mature adults. The style is true to the director's vision of 1960s, 70s drive-in theatre double feature. My favorite movie of the year.

    Grindhouse had a great raw feel that I haven't seen around in a while. It pushed the limits in every way possible and still clicked.
