Formed in Tokyo, Japan in 2002, Grief of War was a death/thrash metal (their description was "Samurai Crunch") band that first made waves in their home country when they released their demo material, a selftitled collection, in 2003. In 2004, the band began to hit stages in Japan, and garnered a healthy response enough so that the band signed to local label Yggr Drasill.
