| EXPERT RATING: From AMG Reviews 1999's Greatest Hits may not be as generous as 1989's The Best of Luther Vandross, which contained 20 tracks on two discs, but it's a good, concise 14-track collection that includes many of his very best songs. There is a lot of overlap with The Best of -- it shares no less than nine tracks with that collection -- but it also has such '90s hits as "Don't Want to Be a Fool" and "Power of Love / Love Power." It is a tight, single-disc collection, which may make it preferable to some listeners. However, The Best of does cover Vandross' prime period better, and since Greatest Hits covers much of that same territory while missing several big '90s hits, it isn't quite all it could be. Cons: Not Enough
I don't own this Cd but I've heard these songs on a daily basis. Believe me when I say, they are most of the best songs of Luther's career. Even if they weren't hits on the charts, they were widley popular because of Luther's fan base. Just wish they could've included more in her for those who don't have the all the Luther Albums. But there are more greatest hits packages of Luthers music that picked up where this left off.
