Pro Reviews: Greatest Hits, Vols. 1 & 2

  • All Music Guide

Greatest Hits, Vols. 1 2 combines Tom T. Hall's first two greatest hits albums on one CD. Although it is a good bargain, the two albums don't necessarily sit well together -- the earlier story songs are considerably more heartfelt and substantial than the psuedo-novelties that comprise the latter songs. Nevertheless, the two-fer CD works as the best single-disc retrospective of Tom T. Hall's career, although it still misses a couple of key tracks.
