  • Overall:

The most remarkable sounding album ever!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 10, 2001 | 1 out of 1 found this Greatest Hits! review helpful

The first time I heard this album, I was quite impressed with their harmonic vocals and I thought they sounded a lot like the Beach Boys. My all-time favorite song on this album is "Windy".

    Association -

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 12, 2001 | 1 out of 1 found this Greatest Hits! review helpful

One of the great vocal-harmony groups of the latter l960's. Sweeping harmonies abound on such classics as "Windy", "Along Comes Mary","Never My Love" and "Cherish". They even tried hard rock with the autobiographical "Six Man Band" (great fuzz guitar...!). Not really a bad cut on this "Best Of" with "Enter The Young", "The Time It is Today", "Like Always" & the qusi-religious "Requiem For The Masses"(harmony on harmony!). More great songs include"Time For Livin'", & "We Love". In fact, their only other Hit- NOT included here, would be the theme from the l969 Ali Mcgraw film -"Goodbye Columbus" which appears along with their other music for that Soundtrack, only on that l969 Soundtrack release. If you like some of their songs, you cannot go wrong with this essential 60's - "Greatest Hits" from the Association! Read more Less

    Wonderful and Tuneful Collaboration!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 10, 2006

    Pros: Everything

    Cons: Nothing

The 60's were a time where artists experimented in the studios and tried to get the best "groovy" sounds to make people really go "Whooaaaa." This band is one of those lost gems. A band of style and importance, lyrics full of ...feeling and love, and just fun. This album is a compilation of a lot of hits from some of their hard-to-find albums. Even today in 2006 and beyond, The Association will still sound wonderful. Some others do not even come close. Read more Less
