Best of The Cure's Best of Collection

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 20, 2001

For fans with Mixed Up and Standin on the Beach, this is still a must. With a selection of their more light hearted and re-mastered songs, it seems a new experience listening to their earlier works again. The acoustic versions of the same songs as on... the first disc, is definitely a collectors' item for the most ardent fans. Read more Less

    WORTH MORE THAN EVERY PENNY

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 19, 2001

I BOUGHT THE CURE'S GREATEST HIT'S CD THE FIRST DAY IT HIT THE STORES. THE CD IS NOTHING MORE THAN SPECTACULAR. I KNEW FOR A FACT THAT IT WAS GONNA BE WORTH THE MONEY THAT I PAID. TO TOP IT ALL OFF, IT CAME WITH A 2ND CD WHICH WAS AN ACOUSTIC VERSI...ON OF THE 1ST CD. IN MY OPINION, THEY SHOULD HAVE ASKED FOR DOUBLE THE COST OF WHAT THEY DID. FOR THE 2ND CD WAS JUST AS GOOD AS THE 1ST ONE. IF YOU LIKE ANY SONG THAT THE CURE SING'S THEN YOU WILL MOST LIKELY INJOY THESE CD'S. REMEBER, YOU GET 2 VERSIONS OF THE CD FOR THE PRICE OF ONE. IT'S DEFINITELY WORTH MORE THAN EVERY PENNY. Read more Less

    Buy the limited edition...

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 18, 2001

More of a 'happy' Best Of this collection offers the more lighter moments of The Cure. If someone is new to The Cure I suggest buying the two singles collection, of course if you want one CD showcasing a span of The Cures career than the Best OF is f...ine enough. Whats makes theis collection more essential than the single disc is The Acoustic hits. If it wasn't for the second I wouldn't have purchased the collection. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of difference between the acoustic and the 'normal' versions, but still they are interesting. The songs are perfect on those night when the fireplace is running.A difinite stand out on The Acoustic Hits is Lovecats. By far my favorite. I hope a 'darker' Best Of will be released. In those rest more interesting songs. Read more Less

    Fantastic

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 14, 2001

With Standing on the beach...being my fave - this is a great cd just because it's been digitally remastered alone!!! And the addition of a bonus cd of all the same songs but done acoustic is even better. They're great live and the cds are great to li...sten to when they're not around to see. If you're newly interested in the Cure this is a great way for you to get acquainted. The tracks are from their early days all the way up to their most recent recordings. Thank You!!! Read more Less

    The Greatest Band Alive!!!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 13, 2001

I have heard many bands, and have tried all types of music, but hands down I keep coming back home to The Cure. I don't think that I can find another band that can best suit my way of life, along with my moods like the cure can. With the launch of ...this "Greatest Hits" album, I have found that there are many other songs that weren't included that are my greatest hits. Anyone who doesn't know the cure should buy this CD for you get a feel of what The Cure is about, then dig deeper to find the truth in all the rest of there music.Long live The Cure!! A great cd to have for every Cure fan along with any music lover. Five stars all the way!!! Read more Less

    All great songs, but...

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 8, 2001

If you are a fan of the Cure, like me, and you already own their previous two collections of singles (Standing on a Beach and Galore), you already have almost all of these songs. I'd rather see them release a collection of b-sides and other rarities..., myself. Or maybe a box set of singles and b-sides/rarities, with a nice booklet, etc. Read more Less

    It's the Cure!!! Come on...

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 28, 2001

All i have to say is the Cure! It has to be a great album. All the songs on this cd are beyond magnificent. Robert's instrument lines are very well composed along with his (almost in all cases) sad, sappy, & gloomish lyrics...But they are still one o...f a kind. And for all of you people who love the Smashing Pumpkins (also a band that has taken excellence to a whole new level) think about where their inspiration came from...yes the Cure...and in my opinion, Robert Smith is a better lyrical genius than Billy Corgan and that is saying a lot about the greatness of this band.
