David Kersh's debut album Goodnight Sweetheart is a pleasant set of contemporary country that emphasizes slick uptempo, line-dancing country-rock and polished ballads. Kersh has a winning voice and personality, yet he lacks strong material. For every strong number, there's one that doesn't quite catch hold. Despite this, Goodnight Sweetheart is a promising debut, simply because it introduces a vocal talent as engaging as Kersh.
