    SO GOOD

Pros: LOTS OF SONGS & CATCHY BEATS

    Cons: Interlude (Milo)

This is Modest Mouse's first album since the 2000 release of the highly acclaimed "The Moon and Antarctica." Modest Mouse offers some great music in their album "Good News for People Who Love Bad News." In this album, the band..., led by Issack Brock, explore the consequences of life and the afterlife. This gives the songs a deep meaning and feel. There are a total of 16 songs on the album. You will be listening to this album for quite a while. Although the album has 3 songs that are under 1 minute in time, this doesn't slow the album down. Without doubt, the best song on the album is "Ocean Breathes Salty." Read more Less

Modest Mouse Brings in the Big Band

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 3, 2004 | 1 out of 3 found this Good News For People Who Love Bad News review helpful

Pros: Same cutting lyrics and raw singing

Cons: More global less landscape driven

I first liked Modesst Mouse because they evoked or even outright referenced so much of my own personal landscape--singing about artic regions and the US West with dry climates and long car rides. They had a raw, half-finished feel that made the emoti...on erupt right out of the stereo. In this new album they're certainly more polished (which is an understandable musical evolution for any artist). They bring in big band instruments like horns and stuff I can't even identify. They have clever lyrics, like "life handed us a paycheck we said 'we worked harder than this!'" but the sparse angst of The Lonesome Crowded West has taken on much more global feel as it mirrors more traditional music numbers. I still like the album but it didn't spark the same immediate liking that The Lonesome Crowded West did. Read more Less

    Pros: Awesomeness

Cons: dance hall instead of Ive Got it all(most)

definately get this and get ur hands on the song Ive Got It All(most) too because for some odd reason it didn't get put on the final and just got put on the float on single. But it is one of the their best songs on this cd.

    Good News for You

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 10, 2004 | 0 out of 1 found this Good News For People Who Love Bad News review helpful

    Pros: new refined sound

Cons: it took too damn long

If you're a Modest Mouse fan, or even if you aren't...buy this record. It's been a long time since they've put something out, but here it is in it's full glory. I've been a fan since the beginning, and still am. I feel that... these guys keep evolving into something better. All really good bands evolve. And with this record, Modest Mouse has evolved into something beyond words. Read more Less
