Synopsis: Gone in 60 Seconds (1974)
Synopis: The basis for the 2000 film starring Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie, 1974's GONE IN 60 SECONDS is a revered cult classic, mostly because of the delirious 40 minute car chase that concludes the film. Directed by its star, writer, producer, and stunt driver H.B. Halicki, GONE IN 60 SECONDS was a drive-in phenomenon when it was originally released. In it, Maindrian Pace and a group of his colleagues race to steal 48 specific makes and models of cars in a week, which will net them $400,000 if they succeed. However, the group runs into trouble trying to jack a 1973 Mach 1 Mustang, and Pace ends up being chased through seven counties by throngs of police in what is probably the most exciting and ambitious car chase ever filmed.Features: Gone in 60 Seconds (1974)

A disappointment.
, March 19, 2001After all the hype I heard about the original "Gone in 60 Seconds", I finally just decided to buy it. Sadly, I was disappointed. The last 40 minutes were thrilling with the longest car chase ever and 93 car wrecks, but the first half is boring and a waste of time with hardly any story. I am still dying to see the sequel "The Junkman." ...

This movie does not pretend to have any complex plot. It is simply a movie with an excellent car chase. A person watches this movie because they like old and exotic cars and like to see them race around and crash.
The car chase is way more realistic in this movie than the new one because it was really performed by stunt drivers and not faked with a bunch of computer technology.
The Car Chase was excellent.
Lots of cars get crashed.
There is no real plot, but one is not expected. ...
