Pros: Great action, strong characters, fast-paced direction
Cons: nothing much. maybe slow moments.
I am a quick fan of James Bond movie. It was all too sudden. Before you know it, I love Bond films. Well,anyway this one was great. Good stunts, fast pacing and all the good elements for a Bond film. I would recommend it to any Bond fan, especially those who enjoyed Timothy Dalton (the Bond before Brosnan) in "The Living Daylights" and "Licence to Kill".

This movie is not your typical James Bond. Brosnan brings Bond to a new dimension, while Sean Bean brings 'the baddie' to a new dimension.
As Alec Trevelyan, Sean Bean makes a good, yet he makes you want to say 'I wouldn't trust him in two thousand years'
Its the first time we get to see Bond surprised at the villainous antics of his former freind, ally and colleague. At one point in the film, Bond actually makes a joke about a pint of lager.
Always knew he's a lager freak, he only does the martini when the ladies are about!!!!

If someone were to say to me that you could never find another Bond that was at least half as good Sean Connery this film would prove them wrong.
Peirce manages to pull off a five star performance as Englands' most famous 00agent along with Sean Beans' best performance in a movie to my knowledge. Famke Jansen looks stunning while giving a quality performance as Xenia Onatopp alongside Judi Denches' role as M which adds a little contrast between her characters' relationship with 007.
The storyline is finally one to talk about since The days of Roger Moore.
Overall this movie deserves more praise than it has been getting! Five stars! And definatelly riding high in the Bond charts for me!Was this review helpful? Yes - NoOne of the best
Terrific. Bronson makes for the 2nd best Bond portrayal.The story, action scenes , special effects were sensational. The DVD print looks great with awesome sound.

There are old Bond movies,
there are new Bond movies
and then there's GoldenEye.
GoldenEye is not a real Bond picture. It's
something else.

Pierce Brosnan is a smooth, charismatic Bond, an ideal successer to Timothy Dalton and the film has undeniable style.But where the hell is the Bond theme tune music.Apart from the a percussion version in the pre-title sequence and a brief ensemble within the tank sequence,it is non existent.The composer of the score wants shooting!!!I hope he never ever works on a Bond film again!!!

I have seen almost every Bond movie and I will say, yes, this is the best Bond movie ever. It basicly sums up very well everything that makes Bond, Bond. If you only see one Bond movie see this one.

I am a huge James Bond fan. I have seen all 19 movies, and I've seen the rip off of Thunderball called Never Say Never Again, but Goldeneye is the absolute best Bond movie ever. It is closely followed by For Your Eyes Only and The Man With The Golden Gun. I love Goldeneye!

The sheer genius of a man so magnificent that in order to capture a single bad guy he is prepared to drive a tank through office buildings and cause multiple car pile ups in the middle of a busy city. A man so clever that when he captures the said villian after causing an untold number of deaths he waits until he escapes again, just so he can go and wreck more buildings and cause more pile ups. And exactly what kind of country would leave national defence up to one suave dude in a suit with a pissy little pop gun anyway? But aside from these small complaints I thought the rest of the movie was entirely forgettable.

This is the most amazing and action-packed movie I have ever seen! Brosnan is a true Bond star and having 006 as the bad guy? That was just genius. The explosive tank chase on the innocent streets of St. Petersburg was awesome, and the movie has the best special effects I've seen in a long time. A perfect example of a five-star movie, and a must for your collection.

This the Bond movie which goes back to the basics which made the Bond movies great! Fast Action, beautiful women, cool cars, exotic locations, a brilliant script and a great theme song. Brosnan plays Bond with the original cold assassin persona and he doesn't need any "Q" supplied gadgets to keep your attention! Watch it and see!!! The next two Bond movies with Brosnan don't come close! Our hero also finally has a nemesis on par in this movie!

Both Bond-o-holics and not so Bond-o-holics will enjoy this movie. Most people that I talk to say that Goldeneye was their favorite Bond movie. They just don't get much better then this.
