    reminds me of a British summer!!!

    This album reminds me of a typical Uk Summer; mostly bright but patchy in places!!! Overall though a great effort from the former Stone Roses singer. I mean, who can deny the quality of the opening track Gettin' High, rock at its finest. I love the... way Brown incorporates a dancy feel to the mainly rock-rooted music, very reminiscent of Primal Scream. But it isnt all wonderful, a couple of songs seem to be misplaced on the album. They arent bad songs but just dont seem relavent to the albums "feel". Read more Less

    Un CD de qualité! les tounes sont bonnes et efficaces en particulier Gettin' High, love like a fountain, neptune, set my baby free ou dolphins were monkeys.
    Excellent album!

    Funky Monkey Business

    Unfinished Monkey Business was good, no doubt about it. It was as good as we could expect, we all knew that Mr Squire was the musical genius in the Roses. Or was he? UMB's only downfall was the amount of "fillers" on it, such as Lions and Deep Pile ...Dreams, the only words to describe those two songs are "crap" and "crapper". What makes Golden Greats great is that there are no fillers, Ian has written a full ablkum of good good songs, even Babasonicos isn't a filler, listen to it, it's good. This album is a bit "dancier" aswell and all the better for it, Brown has surpassed himself and given us a top album, better than anything the Seahorses ever did.Billie Jean is not my lover!     Golden Greats

    I didn't get this for a month after it was released. Having been well into the Roses from about 1988, I have been interested in what Mr Brown has been doing. Unfinished Monkey Business was a fine album in it's own right. Some brilliant tracks, even ...collaberating with Reni & Mani on Cant See Me, a nostalgic Roses-esque affair. Golden Greats goes one step further with alot more direction. It has an almost dancey edge to it with a well defined full sound. With trippy glowing sing-a-long classics like: Dolphins were Monkeys, Getting High, Love Like A Fountain and Set My Baby free, You just can't go wrong! (I recently saw him at Blackpool playing live, most of the album's tracks were performed. He ended with Billie Jean-Don't think twice)! Over all a great album that will grow on you with every listen.     It'll grow on you

    this CD is a little more 'techno' that I thought it was going to be. One of the hallmarks of the Stone Roses that I liked so much was the guitar work and the dreamy psychedelic feel to the music; this record definitely has a different feel to it. At... first I didn't really like it, probably because I was still comparing to early Stone Roses, but after giving it a couple more listens it started to grow on me. Most of the album is good, although there are a couple of weak moments. But if you're a fan I would recommend it. Read more Less

    Though I have never heard the Stone Roses, I just love Ian Brown now! Whenever I heard the GOLDEN GREATS, I can feel that bit of blue inside. I'm sure that I will choose this be one of the best album at least within ten years! By the way, it's cover... design is also very atractive. Nothing to say, FANTASTIC!!! Read more Less
