Collectables' 1996 collection Golden Classics is essentially a retitled reissue of Bertie Higgins' 1982 soft rock classic, Just Another Day in Paradise, with two bonus tracks: "Tokyo Joe" and "Beneath the Island Light." While Epic's CD reissue boasts the original artwork, a better-assembled package, and (arguably) better sound, this does have the extra material, which may make it a better bet for those looking to buy the album for the first time. But while the bonus cuts are good, they're not necessarily enough of an incentive for those who already own the Epic CD to buy it again in this form.

His 1982 debut Just Another Day In Paradise was actually a comeback of sorts -- it was the first musical venture he had undertaken since 1968, when he retired to ... Read more
