Like the Pogues, God's Little Monkeys blend Celtic folk with the drive and energy of rock roll. The band formed in York, England as Malcolm's Interview, with a lineup of vocalist/guitarist Jon Townend, keyboardist/vocalist Jo Swiss, bassist Martin Appleby, and drummer Dave Allen. Breakfast in Bedlam was recorded in 1987 under the Malcolm's Interview name, after which Appleby departed and was replaced by Dave Wall.
