This is a short, but powerful EP/12-inch single from Weddings, Parties, Anything (W.P.A.). The A-Side is the brilliant cover of Paul Kelly's Brendan Behan tribute, "Laughing Boy," from the excellent Roaring Days album. That song alone is worth the purchase of the EP, but the B-Side material is also well worth a listen. "Tough Time" is typical W.P.A., dark lyrics set to a toe-tapping folk/rock tune. "Goat Dancing (At Falafel Beach)" is an interesting "surf-guitar" instrumental, but the real gem of this release is the live recording of "Sergeant Small" -- W.P.A. is an incredible live act, and this track is a short testament to just how good they sound performing in front of a live audience. Overall, a great EP which will please the W.P.A. fanatic, and may even win over new fans.

And it isn't. One part rock, one part punk/alternative, one part country, and one part whatever strikes their fancy. Wi... Read more
