Not for the squeamish. Utterly gripping re-telling of the David Mamet play, and one of those rare instances in which the film exceeds the stage production in power and raw, visceral impact. Stellar performances by an ensemble cast. Ed Harris nearl...y steals the show with his deeply personalized, Willie Loman-esque interpretation of a besieged and embittered salesman on the cusp of failure at middle age. Riveting dialogue that pulls no punches. Antipathy between sales manager Kevin Spacey and saleman Jack Lemmon is palpable. Lemmon's tragic character is gut-wrenching. Alan Arkin and Alex Baldwin turn in superb peripheral performances, and Al Pacino, as usual, is stunning. Seamless direction...not a wasted frame. Read more Less
