    Gladiator not only had action, plot, romance, and, of course, wonderful actors & actresses, it had the ability to bring tears to ones eyes. This is a definate must-own for anyone that wants to own the best movies ever made.

    Astonishing Acting

    I choose this film as one favorites because of the work Crowe and Ridley put in this film I have always been found of Ridley's work and continue to. I am definatly looking forward to see Kingdom of Heaven

    Pros: happy ending

    Cons: maximus didn't become the new cesar

    the movie was excellent and it made me cry the only thing I would have changed is making maximus reunight with his army and fight aganist cesar for killing his father and for taking the lives of inocent people. Once I have changed all of this it will... be the perfect movie. Read more Less

    Great Movie!!

    "Gladiator" is a great movie!! The story is interesting and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. This movie has stunning special effects. The performance that really blew me away was that of Joaquin Phoenix as Emperor Commodus. Phoenix...9;s performance made you hate Commodus, but feel sorry for him at the same time. Phoenix made the character multi-layered, and did a fantastic job!!! In my personal opinion, he is the greatest actor of his generation (and quite easy on the eyes, too!!). Russell Crowe is wonderful as the persecuted general Maximus. He definitely deserved his Oscar for this performance!!! Connie Nielsen was great as Commodus's sister Lucilla. She is a really good actress. Richard Harris, Djimon Hounsou, and the great Oliver Reed give excellent supporting performances. "Gladiator" is phenomenal!! Read more Less
