Although a steady fixture in the San Francisco jazz scene, guitarist Eddie Duran has rarely recorded through the decades, and his second set as a leader follows his first by 22 years. Bassist Dean Reilly (who was on the first outing) and drummer Benny Barth complete the tasteful trio, which performs a pair of Billy Strayhorn ballads, a Latin jazz original by Duran, and a variety of swinging if obscure material (highlighted by a hot rendition of "Breakfast Feud"). Well worth picking up by fans of the jazz guitar.
