I was very into the brit pop movement of the 90's, (something the boo radleys never wanted to be part of)I've always liked boo radley albumns but I only recently bought this one having spent months trying to find it, and what an Album. This a...lbum is basically a blue print for all the great music that followed it for the next 5 years. I hang suspended (the opening track) has touches of radiohead's the bends. some of the later songs in the albums have a real manchester oasis charlatans feel. The music is clearly inspired by the beatles and the beach boys but the songs aren't just carbon copies but if the beatles were to have made an album in the 90's that was as good as there former work this would be it. The songs range from brilliant crafted pop of 'wish I was skinny', dub beats and a ska feel of upon 9th and fairchild and lazarus, through to strange wall of sound, calm before the storm style songs such as leaves and sand and the white noise revisted. Admittedly a few songs do sound like fillers as opposed to stand out tracks, but with 17 songs in total lasting over 64 minutes not every song will appeal but there is enough on this album for any one to like. This is intellignet music making that deserves time to listen to and appreciate, anyone that likes indie music should get this straight away if they don't own it all ready (which they probably don't), it's stood the test of time and deserves to be mentioned along side ok computer and nevermind as albums of the 90's. and why Barney.... (and me) with it's catchy melody and edge style guitars still doesn't get played on the radio today is a travisty. Read more Less
