About Georges Bizet
A French composer of piano, vocal, and dramatic music known for the opera Carmen (1875). Torn between his gift for evocation of narrative imagery with an extraordinary musicality, and a respect and love for simple classic form, Bizet achieved a powerful synthesis of the two in the "L'Arlésienne Suites" and the famous "Carmen" shortly before he died in his mid-30s.
