    The Next Grilleration Grill

Pros: removeable grill plates, ease of cleaning

Cons: over-priced; uneven browning per sides; problems with cleaning of grill plates

This unit is a vast improvement over the earlier generations of George Foreman grills. I like the removeable grill plates but am having huge problems with black residue forming on the backside/underside of these plates. I like the idea of "dishw...asher safe" but wonder if this is contributing to the formation of the black residue on the underside of the grill plates. I also handwash these plates but I still get black water dripping off (the underside) of them. This black stuff (almost like soot) gets all over everything (my hands, included) that it contacts. [I inquired, but no answer from Salton, yet, about this problem.] Also, I still see the uneven browning of the food. The top grill does not brown the food as well as the bottom grill does, prompting me to turn the food over approximately halfway through the grilling time. Of course, this uneven browning problem also occurs with my two waffle irons (also Salton products via Toastmaster). Surely the industry (i.e. Salton) can figure this one out! Frankly, I don't think The Next Grilleration is worth the approximately $100 price tag. Read more Less
