A one-time illustrator turned stage actor and playwright, George Brackett Seitz began in movies as an actor and screenwriter in 1913. Soon after, he revolutionized screen story-telling with his screenplay for the serial Perils of Pauline, and he subsequently directed and starred in several silent serials, a genre that he dominated through the mid 1920s.
