    Pros: Bright screen, lots of memory, hard drive, speed

    Cons: Media Center doesn't work

    I bought at Circuit City on sale - good value. Everything good except Microsoft Media Center doesn't work. After 2 days of loading software and upgrades, Gateway said reinstall system and reformat hard drive. It didn't solve problem. Returned... first computer, got second one, IT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. In Media Center set up, when the speakers are tested, "a critical media center process has failed" Gateway wants me to exchange for a third computer, I'm not convinced this will solve the problem.     good bang for your buck

    Pros: 120GB HD, widescreen, price

    Cons: poor view quality (not recommended for DVD watching), CD/DVD burner malfunction, broken right-click button on mouse pad

    Bought for $975 from Circuit City 10/2006 that included two mail-in rebates for $200 (final price $775). Quick processor. Fabulous bright wide screen that offers great view. Horrendous, however, for DVD watching purposes. Speakers are average, get th...e job done. Burner crapped out within two months (had to buy external). Issue with battery plug-in--jack malfunction will force me to shell out an extra $100-200 for new motherboard. Decent value, but there are better machines out there. Read more Less
