Gary Hoey is one of the few technical-and-proud-of-it guitarists of the '90s. He covers a wide range of styles, including rock and even surf guitar. His 1993 debut album, which featured the renowned Tony Franklin on bass and ex-Quiet Riot drummer Frank Banali, was given an extra push by MTV's airing of the video for "Hocus Pocus." A prolific performer, Hoey's other recordings included a 1995 self-titled effort, 1996's Bug Alley and a pair of Christmas records, 1995's Ho Ho Hoey and its 1997...
