Garmin nuvi 760 GPS Receiver

No satellite signal

Pros: good when it works

Cons: doesn't work often

For the first month or so I enjoyed using my Nuvi 760. It worked well. Then, all of a sudden it lost the signal and has not been able to find it again - for two months now. I've given up on this piece of junk.

Pros: Bluetooth, shows the posted speed limit, calculates FAST, has MANY more features than my previous Streetpilot.

Cons: None to this date.

I was originally going to go with the 780 however there wasn't really a difference besides the price, so I got the 760.

I can't go into detail about the unit because I just received it today, but from my 1 day experience, I've not had 1 problem out of the 760.

One thing I did notice is that the Nuvi 760 calculates your route FAST unlike my previous Streetpilot.

Pros: easy to see, good easy directions

Cons: sometimes pops off of the windsheild

I love my Garmin- I really dont know how I got anywhere without it. If someone is looking for a GPS that has great visibility and speaks the directions concisely this is the one for you. It is so easy to use and you can even do different voices (mine is on British just because I love it, haha!).

I HAD MINE NOW FOR 7 MONTHS NOW AND IT HAS BEEN GOOD TO ME. IT TAKES ME EVERYWHERE I WANT TO GO ON A DIME. I LOVE IT. IT'S LIKE MY GIRLFRIEND I HAVE IT WITH ME ALL THE TIME. AND IT IS 95% ON POINT.

Don't know if the others have used a GPS?

Pros: Touch screen, signal, wireless transmitter, bluetooth, etc etc etc

Cons: ?...not waterproof?...lol

I own my own businesses and tend to travel a lot whether it is for business or RVing we are going!! I have owned quite a few GPS systems and have to say this is the tops that I have owned!! I tend to go to Los Angeles from time to time and I definitely like to explore and even though I am sure I frustrate the GPS it does a great routing and rerouting job. I don't know where the others had their problems....well you know come to think about I didn't go underground so I definitely could NOT comment about use in caves and underground caverns but above ground it is tip top. Hope it helps!

Pros: Fast Reception

Cons: No outside antenna connection

With any GPS...reception of signal is paramount. Thought the convenience of "plug and go" is my reward. Placing the unit close to the windshield, I found is advantageous. I drive different delivery trucks with new clients daily and seldom return to the same address in a 200 mile radius. The Garmin 760 has aided me daily with MP3 entertainment and making hands free calls.

Pros: Great directions

Cons: none

I drive a semi truk for a living and the Garmin gps is the greatest this ever made. Less in his review is totaly wrong. e should drive in
Atlanta, Ga without a gps. I have review all the different brands and Garmin is the best by far.

Pros: HAHA! What are these 'Pros' you speak of?

Cons: Not reliable... AT ALL

This GPS is great... When it actually works, that is!
The Garmin Nuvi 760 can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. Unfortunatly, about 95% of the time, this GPS is your enemy. It WILL always fail you when you need it most.
For example: when you get lost, or when you are driving in a complex road system, or right before you arrive to your destination in an unfamiliar setting, Garmin Nuvi 760 will respond simply by saying "Lost Satellite Reception." It never fails.
Would you waste your hard earned money on a worthless piece of junk? Of course you wouldn't!
So, please take this review to heart and NOT purchase the Garmin Nuvi 760.
