The best Christmas present I ever received!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 6, 2007 | 24 out of 25 found this Garmin nuvi 360 review helpful

Pros: Very user friendly GPS system, that navigates easily in and out of the car.

Cons: The manual could have been more informative and more detailed.

I have been wanting a portable gps system for primary use in my car but had the capability of moving with me when travelling with others or walking to an appointment. The nuvi 360 is compact enough to take with you whereever you go. I live in the Was...hington, DC metropolitan area and the nuvi 360 has decreased my stress level enormously. I don't have to pull over to consult numerous maps or worry about detours due to heavy traffic, construction or accidents. It makes my travel so much more enjoyable. I did think the manual could have been more detailed and comprehensive. Read more Less

Don't know how I travelled without it!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 26, 2007 | 13 out of 13 found this Garmin nuvi 360 review helpful

Pros: Easy of use, accuracy, spoken directions

    Cons: None

I've had my Nuvi 360 for several months, and continue to be amazed by it. Makes driving in unfamiliar places a breeze - considering the amount of time I spent being lost before I had it! If you're considering purchasing a Nuvi unit, I sugges...t that you hold off ordering accessories until you discover what comes with it - the Nuvi is shipped with a suction mount and a nice leather case. An exception might be an external antenna such as the excellent one offered by Gilsson. Just a few suggestions for Nuvi users to help get the most from the unit: * Use the vehicle power cord whenever possible. This allows you to enable the WAAS function of the Nuvi without draining the battery. WAAS makes the thing so accurate that it can distinguish between being in the first or second position at a traffic signal. * Consider the dash mount system for the Nuvi marketed by ProClip USA. Their mounts consist of a section specific for the vehicle, and a second section specific for the GPS unit. A bit pricey, but excellent quality, perfect fit, and holds the unit rock solid. * I purchased a bean bag mount and an extra auto power cord to use with rental cars. These fit in a small case I carry in my briefcase, and setup in the rental car is very simple. I add the locations of the rental car provider, my hotel, and the location of my business meetings to the Nuvi's "favorites" group before I leave, and then use the Nuvi's directions to move to and from these locations, even when I'm in the city for the first time. Compact and Accurate

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 18, 2007 | 4 out of 4 found this Garmin nuvi 360 review helpful

Pros: User friendly, pocket sized, good mounting, speaks streets names with reasonable accuracy, clear display

Cons: POI and Favorites lists cannot be re-ordered alphabetically, only listed by distance from current location. Searching for a known favorite locations is thereby less convenient.

My favorite Christmas gift of 2006. I got it working within five minutes of unpacking it. The Nuvi 360 is incredibly compact and so easy to carry for pedestrian uses and to prevent theft while away from the car. Its PIN security feature should discou...rage thefts also. The audio is clear and the normal sounding street names are spoken intelligibly. The non-standard street names are pronounced phonetically but still understandable. Map upgrades are a bit expensive (~$90) but at least are readily available from Garmin. Read more Less

    THE BEST GPS EVER!!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 14, 2007 | 3 out of 3 found this Garmin nuvi 360 review helpful

Pros: easy to use, bluetooth, very very accurate directions, strong signal, mp3 player, sleek design, and clear turn by turn directions

    Cons: None

I have had the garmin nuvi 360 for about 8 months and it has been ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!! The design is great, the screen is crisp and clear, the directions are accurate, and it tells you the street name to turn instead of the distance. There are also ma...ny options for you to choose on how you navigate such as taking the highway or a residental way. My favorite thing about it is the bluetooth. It acts as my cell phone when i am driving so i can keep my eyes on the road. All in all if you are looking for a GPS the garmin nuvi 360 is the way to go! Read more Less

    Nuvi eventually loses signal

By Mark  Aug 31, 2008 | 5 out of 8 found this Garmin nuvi 360 review helpful

Pros: good for navigation when it works

    Cons: Horrible on signal

The Nuvi 360 worked great for about a year - then it started losing satellite signal frequently and no longer acquires a signal. Searched for help and found this is common for Garmin products. Well this one is going in the trash and I am going to try... a Tom Tom product. Outside of the satellite signal problems it was a nice product. However, without a satellite signal (unable to acquire a satellite) the unit is completely useless. Hate the product and will never buy products from Garmin again. Very disappointed to say the least. By Diane  Apr 1, 2008 | 2 out of 2 found this Garmin nuvi 360 review helpful

Pros: Ease of use, configurable, bright screen, compact

Cons: Can't get the bluetooth to function with Treo 650

Really like the device. It's easy to use, intuitive interface, selection of voices, speaks the street names, and alerts that are not annoying like other systems. Long battery capacity as well.

    Garmin Nuvi 360

    By retiredguy  Feb 5, 2009

Pros: Detailed and current street maps. Ease of use.

Cons: Extremely low volume. Flip-up antenna prevents use of window mount in most cars.

This is my second Garmin Nuvi GPS system. I ordered this upgrade model because I wanted the street by names voice capability and the bluetooth capability of this model. Purchase of this model was a very big mistake. The unit's volume level, when ...turned to the highest mode, is impossible to hear. Additionally, the flip-up antenna on the back of this model makes it very difficult, if not impossible, to mount the unit to the window and tilt the uni to angle that can be seen from anyplace other than the floor of the car. Wish I had not traded up because my old Nuvi 200 was a much better model for those reasons. Read more Less
