Well...three Nuvis in one year

Pros: Ease of use

Cons: Break after about three months

My first Nuvi broke after 4 months. There was no longer any sound, neither through the regular speaker nor through external speakers. No big deal, I thought, and applied for and received a replacement. However, the replacement's warranty is only good for 90 days...and on day 89, the touch screen no longer worked. I am now on number three in a less than a year. I loke the Audible and MP3 capabilities, but my next GPS won't be from Garmin.

Pros: Very easy to navigate.

Cons: I have a little trouble with the start up bottom. I have to press hard to get it to come on,and off.

I bought one of these and I just love it.
It was very helpful getting me around Houston! It was one of the best investments I ever made. I would highly recommend this product!

The Perfect Gift

Pros: Perfect GPS

Cons: I wish I had bought it sooner

My wife is in the Coast Guard and we transferred from the East Coast of Elizabeth City NC to the West Coast of Alameda CA. So I bought one of these things for the trip. Best move I have ever done. We never looked at a map the whole way. We would be riding and need a hotel, all we done was looked up hotels found one ahead clicked on it, it gave us the phone number we called and made reservations while going down the road, same way for restaurants. When we arrived to Alameda a place I never been, it did not matter if I needed anything I looked it up in the GPS. The unit is truly a life saver. I don't care if we were in Oakland or San Fran. around all the buildings my 350 did not let me down. We used it for 1.5yrs. over there. On the way back across we took hwy 40 same result never missed a beat. If I had to say one thing bad about this unit it would be, if you were looking for a store, sometimes the store transferred to a different location and the 350 wouldn't know it so, you would go to an empty building or a road by-pass they just put in. I have told my story I don't know how many times, I should become a spokes person for Garmin.

Pros: Nicely packaged

Cons: Data base is awfull

I had an iQue 3600, and it was WONDERFUL, so when it came time to buy a new GPS I went for another Garmin.......

How they made things so much worse since the iQue is beyond me!!

The data base is so incomplete as to be nearly useless ....... I tried to find the Air Force Museum, and/or Wright Patterson AFB, and they were no in the DB! I sat in a Post Office parking lot (one which had been there for 30 years) and it showed the closest post office to be 12 miles away ..... almost dangerously, I went to visit a friend at a Hospital, and it couldn't find it ...... again, while parked in that lot it found the closest Hospital to be 8 miles off!! It's a good thing I wasn't looking for medical help....

I think I'll try something else next time...

Pros: EASE OF USE

Cons: N EED TO UPDATE YOUR MAP WITHIN 3MONTHS

Plug it in and it works right from the start. They have a free map update but you need to use this option right away or you will lose this benefit, and you will have to pay them another 60+ dollars to download the map update. Poor customer service, cannot download music easily, and no support from the anyone. Would probably check other brands before purchasing from Garmin again, as I am so hooked up on receiving Excellent Customer Service!

Pros: okay for short drives on local roads

Cons: internal software is buggy

Nuvi 350 kept trying to to take me off interstate onto local roads. Garmin had me update software and go back to default settings but to no avail. If I listened to my Nuvi 350 I would still be on Virginia local roads trying to get back home to New Jersey. Also it could not find Rt 34 in NJ. One of the oldest roads in NJ.
