Pros: can never get lost again
Cons: haven't found one yet
We bought our gps this past year and wish we had of bought one sooner. Can never get lost.If you take a wrong turn it gets you right back on track. No more stressfull rides trying to read signs. Gets you right where you are going. Would recommend to anyone.

Cons: Minor - can't change voice
I bought the Tom Tom and returned it after using it once. It was not user friendly and it had a mind of its own. The Garmin is very simple to use and has been extremely accurate. I am confident that I can get to where I need to go for the first time without getting lost!

I bought this unit on Black Friday at Circuit City. I can't believe you guys paid $500. I got it for $200 and got 2 of them. Plus I have a little extra $100 to shop with :)

Pros: Ease of use, readable maps, intuitive interface
Cons: Size, slow signal acquisition (compared w/Magellan 3140), no bluetooth (if you need that...)
I bought the C340 and used it for a few months until it was stolen from my car. I decided to try something different, so I bought a Magellan Maestro 3140. Here are some random thoughts if you are interested:
-Compared to the Magellan, the c340 takes forever to acquire the signal--sometimes the Magellan comes on connected to a satellite(s). The Magellan will often work inside a building, where the Garmin won't.
(However, this isn't a huge problem because the Garmin works fine after it connects--sometime it connects in 20 seconds, occasionally you wait up to 2 minutes.)
-The Magellan seems a little more speedy recalculating routes.
-The Garmin's menus make much more sense, overall I would say it is easier to use than the Magellan.
-Both produce enough volume and have nice bright screens
-Because its smaller and flatter, the Magellan is easier to take with you (which I definitely recommend--I left my Garmin in the car and someone swiped it)
-The suction cup mount on the Magellan is smaller and less stable than the Garmin's. The unit never fell off the window with the Garmin, the Magellan did a few times.
-The Garmin has a few different types of voices that you can select, the Magellan has one. Both have excellent text-to-speech.
-The Magellan seems to give a few more vocal directions than the Garmin. The Magellan also has a split screen view, which is neat--you can see the turn on one side of the screen and the live view on the other.
-The AAA toubook in the Magellan is a nice feature (not in the c340)
Overall, I would recommend the Garmin by a small margin, just because its a bit easier to use.

Pros: Voice directions let me focus on the traffic
Cons: Gets confused in some urban areas
Overall, this is a fine device. Although it does not always choose the best route, it does eventually get you to your destination. (It calculates the shortest route not necessarily the fastest or least number of lights) In some urban areas where streets merge and wend there way through dead-end streets and cul-de-sacs, it has tried to direct me on to the freeway where there is no on-ramp. Returning home from either direction, it thinks my address is on the other side of the street. Sometimes the voice prompt is a little slow and I have missed the intended turn. It will then recalculate to provide an alternate routing to the destination. I'm looking forward to using it the next time I travel south through Dallas where some traffic signs are past the decision point to stay on the right freeway.

Cons: no biggie, mispronounces some words
I bought this unit off of dell.com for about 280$. out of the box this baby was an ease to use, didnt need the manual. Tons of POI'S, fast at aquireing a signal and fast when recalculating if your off track. There are a few things that bothered me but its no big deal. sometimes it mispronounces words, for example it sometimes does not figure out that "HWY" is highway. Also it can lose its connection whenever your in tunnels and in the city surrounded by skyscrapers. But thats pretty normal with gadgets using satelites. again no biggie, its only human, lol. Overall i love this unit its get me to where i need to go with ease and fast.
