Pros: Easy to use and understand
Cons: none
I just got the c330 this weekend. I've never had a GPS unit before but I'm amazed how easy it is to use. It's almost foolproof.
My favorite feature is that if you miss a turn it automatically spits out new directions for your target.
The c330 even has directions for driving in Canada, which is important to me.
I read reviews saying that the c330 is lacking lots of extras (it doesn't play music, doesn't shoot photos, etc) but it does one thing and one thing well, which is what I was concerned about.
Pros: Clear directions
Cons: Destination accuracy is correct about 20 percent of the time.
The destinations I punch in are very rarely found unless the building has been around for several years. Even when found, the accuracy is still off by anywhere from a few hundred feet to a few miles. It is very easy to use but you never know exactly where you are going to end up. Luckily, my phone has maps on it as well and has bailed me out several times. If you save a location and are returning to that same location, it provides accurate arrival time. The 330 is the only GPS iI have ever used, so I dont know what to recommend. Hopefully this helps though.
Pros: It is very easy to use and I like the street by street verbal direction.
Cons: The beach does not have an address.
I have freedom. I have a huge fear of getting lost and going far from home would always cause stress. Now I travel everywhere, Yosemite, San Francisco, San Jose, Reno, Sacramento. I will always own a GPS from now on. When my street pilot wears out I plan on getting another Garmen product.
Pros: cheap, brilliant little device.
Cons: cannot transmute lead into gold, old maps
I would like you to meet my new girlfriend, Sophia Garmin, nexus c330. For as far back as I can remember my parents had always been against the idea of humans marrying replicants. So when I introduced them to Sophia I was not suprised when they reacted with anger. As for the unit itself, well its not perfect but it comes very close. This thing is pretty much idiot proof and requires all of about 5 minutes to learn how to use. If you don't know the difference between "turn left in 300 ft" or turn left in 600 ft" you could be in big trouble. It helps to look at the map AND listen. I don't know whose voice they chose but I really never get tired of listening to her talk. I keep it turned up as loud as it goes in order to drowned out the endless blathering of my wife (who always talks to me in spanish, as if english wasn't bad enough). The only thing it needs is an attitude meter adjustment so you can have her be very jovial or short tempered and abusive when you pass your street. I change it to listen to directions in different languages just for fun. If you are thinking about buying a Garmin you can't go wrong but I recommend you buy a newer model that has more updated maps.
Pros: unit works well, love the way it recals.missed turns
Cons: unit was not up dated to 2008 maps
tried to update my c330 on the computer.found it to be expensive, and time consuming,to update my unit.
Pros: direction given o.k.
Cons: map needs to be updated
I traveled to Mississippi and I noticed that several street names were not on the Garmin 330. I tried to update the map on the computer and I could not, because I had to buy the map.
Pros: Easy to use.
Cons: Bulky to carry, no lat or lon #'s to view.
It is a great basic unit for the money. I purchased my unit on Black Friday. Wal-Mart for $128.00. Thats the best part. Its a great teaching tool for kids. Gets you where you are going.
Pros: Out of box ready
Cons: not as "heavy" as it's siblings
Plugged it in, pressed map and it was up and running.
Pros: Very easy to use, and accurate.
Cons: No real problems
I bought four of the Garmin 330s as gifts this year because I've had mine for a year and love it. It is accurate and simple to use right out of the box. Sometimes the turns are a little hard to see until you are right there. But other than that, it is a terrific unit.
