    A Debut Album????

    How much better can you get than this??The tunes are unashamedly pop and catchy. There is a sense of intimacy in many tracks and I feel that the slower tunes show Merril's real power of voice inflection and subtlty. I know that there is a higher pow...er there in the mould of Irene Cara and this is so shiverring to listen to on occasions but the power lies well below that.     True Talent, True Heart

    I think that The Garden has a lot of heart. After never hearing MB until I listened to her at my cousin's house, I am now hooked on her gentle yet fun voice. Mouth is a good song.

    This CD was given as a gift ( I didn't even know who MB was) and I didn't think I would like it. I was hooked after the first run while working - Great listening music!

    *****i give "the garden" by merril bainbridge 5 stars becuase i can't stop listening to it. even though it's really old i still listen to it! it is definitely my favorite cd ever. there is not one song on that cd that i don't like. plus i can relate... to most of her songs, and when im not feeling too great, her cd cheers me up or helps me out. also, if im really tired but i cant go to sleep, if i listen to her one song "power of one", i fall right asleep (and thats because the song is so pretty). so i will definitely give this cd a complete 5 STARS!! ***** Read more Less

    One of the best albums I own

    I personally feel that The Garden is one of the best albums I own. I listen to all kinds of classic and 90's rock, and it's very rare that I find an album as fun to listen to as the Garden. Its lyrics are moving, its melodies are very catchy, and it...'s sound is pleasant and energetic. Read more Less

    "Mouth" was great! but...

    When I heard "Mouth" for the first time, it was an appealing song. However, a single song can deceive us. The style of "Mouth" has resemblances towards the other songs in her cd, but I would have to say that the rest of her songs were not the greate...st, lyrics-wise and sound-wise. Most of the songs lacked an interesting background, which could immediately give the wrong impression. Also, although she has the potential for smoother music, she sings songs that tend to have a more "up-down" rhythm, where the voice doesn't get distinguished as much. Anyways, I would give it a 2, not because I dislike the artist, but because I believe that this cd was not where most would have expected it. Now, I do listen to a different style than she sings, so I could just be comparing it to other stuff, but what I thought was that she really needed some better lyrics and sounds, as far as music goes. Unless u really like Merril Bainbridge, I would suggest that u pass this one up and just get the single! Read more Less
