    Desert Trance Reaches out

This was, to my knowledge, one of the first moonshine releases to showcase the talents of DJ John Kelley. He is a ‘Desert Trance’ DJ by trade and a musical genius by chance. I have heard many DJ mixed CDs in all the years that I have been listenin...g to Techno. John Kelley has released some of the best. His mixing talent is ranked with outstanding DJ’s such as Dan, Brian, Keoki, ‘D: Fuse’, Carl Cox and the all time master of trance Kimball Collins. I know that many people reading this my have already formed an opinion about Techno, ‘Trance’ or DJ John Kelley. But for those of you that are not familiar with this release, this DJ, or this style I want to give you a little background first. That is, of course, if Amazon will be gracious enough to allow it. Then came the “Rave.” A huge dance party with thousands of people that w Read more Less

Pro Reviews: Funkydesertbreaks

  • All Music Guide

An album of typically American funky breakbeats and psychedelic trance from the cream of the crop, including Uberzone, the Crystal Method, Electric Skychurch, Omar Santana and Psychedelic Research Lab. John Kelley's mixing is more than proficient, but the generally unexciting flavor and lack of subtlety in the material drags the compilation down a bit.
