    STOOGES : FUN HOUSE

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 5, 2005

    Pros: everything

    Cons: nothing

the album is brillant, one of the best of all time : it feels like the guitars are burning, iggy's on fire, the songs all feel like crazy jams, culminating in the insane l.a. blues at the very end of the album. HIGHLY recommended

Fun House is a classic, an absolutely incredible rock album that just feels great! Right from the start, when Down on the Street begins, you think this is going to be as good as it gets, but it gets even better. Dirt is the best ever Stooges song, a ...seven minute descent into decadence that seals the Stooges reputation as one of the best bands of all time. The first album and Raw Power are fierce creatures, forces to be reckoned with, but Fun House has just that little bit extra dirt. Read more Less

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 28, 2001

THIS ALBUM BY THE STOOGES INCORPORATES TECHNOLOGY WHICH IS STILL SOUGHT AFTER TODAY. The actual song-"FUN HOUSE" is a classic trcak spanning for around seven mins with Iggy and the guys thrashing about. This album is not for the faint hearted but is b...rilliant when you are really pissed off with life.GO TO: http:/

    A Classic!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 24, 2001

Iggy and the Stooges just plain rocked this one! Every song sizzles. My fav's are "Down on the Street", "Loose", and "1970". They could have called this one "Raw Power" too, cause that's exactly what it is!

The Stooges were never more raw or chaotic than on this recording. Iggy's finest hour, hands down. A precursor to punk rock, noise rock and just about everything else. Brilliant, just brilliant. Buy it.

Who actually gives a damn about the Beetles or whoever, The sixties are about POP music, and that's IGGY for the silly people out there. This The Stooges second album, is kinda like a zoo being carpet bombed........ I think. Iggy makes noises that ...apparantly are natural....... Although Funhouse doesn't have a I Wanna Be Your Dog or a Search And Destroy, it is a non stop assault on the senses. Buy it and turn your speakers up......... Read more Less

It's 'Loose' on my hi-fi forever!!

Wot, only one person reviewed this album so far. Ah theres gotta be more than this, everybody always says how the Stooge's were the greatest rock'n' roll band, that Fun House was a landmark, that Raw Power was their greatest album, that Fun House was... as well, as was their first one...ah sod it, they're all amazing. This is one wild record, it benefits from a loose style, and the wild sax playing of Steve MacKay. Gone is the controlled production of 'The Stooges', here Iggy's vocals, recorded live thru a P.A, are unlocked to full capability, Ron Asheton's brutal power chords lay down a devastating barrage of electric noise that glides between the throbbing, dirty rhythm section with near-clinical precision. Never has spontaneity sounded so 'together', so perfect. From the opening chords of 'Down on the Street', to the apathetic alienation and squalid degradation that is 'Dirt' to the climactic, free-jazz menace of 'Fun House/L/A Blues', this is one mean album. One to listen to under the influence of heroin perhaps, never mind, buy it any way... Read more Less
