The pocket-sized FinePix Z1 Zoom houses a fifth generation version of Fujifilm's Super CCD HR sensor, delivering superb images even in low light conditions, making it the ideal pocket companion for concerts or nights out. Its five megapixel processing power and low noise ISO 64-800 sensitivity range also means that large reprints can be developed without loss of image clarity or detail.

With its ergonomic, single-shell casing available in several colors, the FinePix Z1 Zoom promises to appeal to those with an eye for beautiful design. Simply slide back the front panel, and the camera is powered up and ready for action in a super-fast 0.6 seconds.

Despite its diminutive build, the FinePix Z1 Zoom sports a huge 2.5 inch LCD screen that is the largest in the Fujifilm range, making it ideal for viewing and editing images while out and about. Importantly for this type of 'take-everywhere' camera, the glass screen is also specially toughened, which makes it more than a match for the harsh environment of the pocket or handbag.

Remarkably for a camera of these dimensions, the FinePix Z1 Zoom also includes a TV-quality movie function, capable of capturing 30 frames per second, VGA video with sound. Furthermore, the large LCD screen makes it easy to view movies and share the action without needing to use a TV screen.

Pros: Easy to use, can adjust settings on camera quickly, easy interface with PC, great closeup pics, great mega-pix for the $$
Cons: Could improve on low-light pics, Video capture works best in a well-lit areas
The Z1 is very easy to use and easy to take along with you anywhere because it fits nicely in any pocket. I have been able to take great pictures indoors and outdoors, and have had no problems taking pictures of moving objects/people. Downloading pic...tures from the camera to PC is quick and painless. The software on the PC does leave a little to be desired, but overall is easy to use plus it has built in print options, email options, etc... Hey, if my wife can operate it then ANYONE can do it! Faulty Flash

Pros: Small design, great outdoor/lighted shoots
Cons: Flash is terrible
At first I loved this camera until I took it to my 21st birthday party and all the pictures turned out blurry.the flash would not work then the next the picture I tried to take the flash would be too bright. The third picture would usually turn out f...ine but it took three tries to get a good picture. I will be returning it. Read more Less

We can overlook the proprietary xD memory card format and the insistence on the use of a dock for transferring photos and charging the battery, but we think that a camera of this specification should be able to take high quality snaps under any conditions. It's not as though the FinePix Z1 is cheap and cheerful, which makes it a bit of a fashion victim that has great looks but ultimately fails to deliver the goods. Read more
