The new S6000fd digital camera is the first Fujifilm FinePix product to feature Face Detection, a new technology designed to significantly improve your picture taking by identifying human subjects' faces in the frame (up to 10 faces) and in real time, determining the optimal focus and exposure settings for the absolute best results possible in any shooting conditions.

Fujifilm's Picture Stabilization technology utilizes the heightened sensitivity of the FinePix S6000fd at ISO3200 and high-speed shutter settings to prevent camera shake or freeze subject movement, keeping blur to a minimum. This lets the camera choose the correct light sensitivity and best-matching shutter speed automatically, for the highest quality digital pictures.

The FinePix S6000fd is equipped with a 28-300mm Fujinon 10.7X optical zoom lens with full manual control via the lens barrel. This high quality Fujinon lens configuration offers tremendous flexibility for either zoom or wide angle shots - almost like having two lenses in one, and without the risks of dust accumulation that come with having to change lenses.

Dual shot mode allows to take two pictures with one press of the S6000fd's shutter button; one with flash, to capture a bright, vivid image, and the other without flash, to capture the natural ambiance of the shot's environment. Dual shot mode gives you more flexibility to assure a great picture.

    Great Starter Camera for a great price

    Pros: Good quality pictures, 10x optical zoom, easy to use, face detection

    Cons: no case or memory card

    I recently bought this digital camera and have been very satisfied so far. I was in search of a great camera that didn't blow my budget. This camera is an excellent value for it's price, I wanted to see if I would like photography but didn&...#39;t want to spend tons on an SLR. It has an easy auto focus feature, as well as manual for photographers in the making. The 10x optical zoom is outstanding, and the pictures are crisp and well focussed. I have made a few 8x10pictures off the memory stick and they are nice and clear. The battery life is good, I haven't noticed it draining quickly. The only downside is you have to purchase a bigger memory card, since you can only take a few photos on the internal memory. I have had this camera for 2 months and already taken 1000 photos!! I love it!! Did I mention the face detection! Hit the nearest retailer and try it out. You will really like it. I highly recommend!!! Read more Less

    Excellent Camera for the Price

    Pros: Amazing photo quality for 6MP, looks really professional, 10.7x zoom, virtually no shutter lag

    Cons: Has some trouble focusing at full zoom at times, no true image stabilization

    For a while I had been researching many cameras as a step up from my point-and-shoot and I knew this one would be a winner. Two days after getting this camera I took a trip to the San Diego Zoo and had incredible results straight from the box. ... On the positive side, the camera&#3
    9;s 10.7x OPTICAL zoom mahelps you get closer to most things (i.e. birds in an aviary). This combined with the high amount of detail retained at mid ISO range and little shutter lag makes it highly versatile. I like how the camera actually looks like a professional camera as opposed to those small box-like cameras. There are few problems to this camera, however. When fully extending the zoom, the camera has trouble focusing at times. Also, the camera&#3
    9;s take on image stabilization is simply raising the ISO and Shutter Speed (something you can do yourself); increasing ISO to its maximum degrades image quality. While the lack of true image stabilazion may be a deal breaker for some, after some research I discovered many cameras have image stabilization at the cost of increased purple fringing (the weird purple outline around some objects in pics)and picture noise. The camera is actually rather stable and so far I have not seen a blurry pic. I must say I that this camera has exceeded my expectations. I recommend this camera for anyone who wants something better than a point and shot but does not want to spends too much money on a dSLR. With a little work, you can take excellent photos with this camera.     Read more Less
