    I am a previous owner of a Canon EOS SLR. This is my first digital camera. After comparing many brands and models under $500.00, I decided on the Fuji S5100. I purchased my camera for $399.00 at BestBuy. I found a Fuji 256mb XD at Wal-Mart for under ...$80.00The Fuji Finepix S5100 (4.0 MP) is an upgrade from the 5000 (3.0 MP). White balance adjustment and improved shooting features have been added to the 5100.To say the least, I am very satified with my purchase. The camera has lots of whistles and bells. And you have a choice of several automatic settings or you may chose manual. The picture quality at 4MP is great. Depth of color and the sharpnest of pics are fairly good. The 10X zoom is awesome for close-ups from a distance. One thing I wish Fuji had is an image stabilizer like some Canon models do. But for features and value, I believe the Fuji easily wins out over the Canon. In summary, its my opinion that this is a darn good camera.For a professional review - go to Read more Less

    Pros: Nice Camera. All Sorts Of Settings

    Cons: No Image Stablizer

    I like this camera. Its small and compact and is easy to use. Real sharp SLR design and the color depth of the pixs is extremely good quality for a digital camera in this price range. While a great majority of digital are out there on the market - an...d I have had most in my hands and compared alot between them all - this model seems to be the best choice in its price range. Menu selections are simple and easy. You can control all buttons on the backside (other than view finder resolution) with not much effort or struggle. 10 X Optical and 3.6X digital ... like WOW! Even has a special setting for night time shots! But I would suggext using a tri-pod for such because of open shutter time.Overall .. this is a very impressive camera in comparison with other brands in the same price range. Features and picture quality sold me on the 5100. Read more Less
