The FinePix S5000 offers point-and-shoot simplicity combined with advanced exposure control. It offers a super long 10X optical zoom [37-370mm, f2.8-f8 (W)/f3.2-f9 (T)], and uses Fujifilm's new 4th Generation Super CCD HR with 3.1 million effective pixels and 6.0 million recorded pixels. The S5000 features continuous auto focusing and a low light focus assist lamp. You can record digital movies with sound at QVGA resolution (30fps). A 110,000 pixel electronic viewfinder provides you with a through-the-lens preview of the scene.

    Pros: weight, zoom, macro

    Cons: XD memory card not as cheap other memory cards.

    I researched by looking at other reviews. Compared to the Sony FD97 that I used this is fantastic. I am not a pro by far but this has enough features to accomplish almost anyones needs.Buy a larger XD card, 128M at a minimum.If your looking at doing ...Pro photography get the S7000 or a true digital SLR.For the regular user, this is all you'll need.     Pros: Zoom, quick snap shots, and great handle

    If you are looking for a great deal for a DSLR camera, this is it, look no further, because this camera is IT. This camera can also provide you with a great learning experience, no only will it tell you when the shutter speed is too fast, but it can ...even tell you if the aperture is not enough to take a excellent photo, and with 3.1 effective megapixels, your photos will print out better than Kodak prints.     Built like an expensive SLR, but comes up short on resolution.The FinePix S5000 looks and feels like an expensive camera, with a rubberized black body you might find on a single-lens reflex model, and a pronounced grip that makes it especially comfortable to hold right-handed.
