The Fujifilm FinePix s2000HD Digital Camera is basically a point-and-shoot camera on steroids. The 10 mega pixel pictures and the 15x zoom are really amazing in a stand alone camera. The video is not as good as advertised, but it is easy to use and i...nclude HD. It uses SDHC cards for storage which can be purchased very inexpensively and hold a load of pictures and video. The “hey what is that” look to camera gives the impression that you are using a SLR which your fiends and passersby want to touch. The “feel” of the camera is that there is something to it. It has enough weight to make it seem solid and the hand grip is comfortable with the shutter controls in a convenient location. When in Auto mode you are pretty much the non-photographer taking very good looking photographs without a clue why they turn out so well. There are a variety of buttons that can give the user more and more control. The Mode Control is easy to read and what each setting does is shown, for a few seconds, on the large digital view screen. The manual controls will give you creativeness, but they do not work with the ease of a SLR camera’s ring on the lens. I have found that it is almost impossible to adjust shutter speed or aperture while looking through the view finder. The large digital display is very nice and with the click of a button you can look through a “eye to camera” view finder that makes taking pictures in bright light a snap. The downside to the viewfinder is that it does not show on the digital display when it is on. This can cause confusion on whether the camera is on or not when in a hurry to take a shot. I have turned the camera off more then once in a hurried shooting situation. I looked at the camera at electronic stores, such as Best Buy, and a variety of online stores, eventually buying the camera online for a total of $246, which included batteries, a 4G SDHC disk and shipping.
