    good for digital quality

Pros: picture quality, amazing zoom-in size, color and much more

Cons: small power button, slow speed

Its quality is much better than any other digital cameras I've tried. It takes perfect photos at night (without flash) with only a little light. Amazing color that could catch the images like exactly how they are. Love it, recommend it.

    Pros: Veritility

Cons: Not sure of the plastic construction, may be ok

I like this camera! Its almost perfect but I was a bit concerned in the use of plastics in its construction, perhaps this was done to make a 9MP camera affordable but the constuction is quite stout but there is something about a well built aluminum b...ody that is pleasing to hold. The picture quality is outstanding and the options for use that are built in will please even the most professional photo buff being what it is, a very high performance camera in a very convenient size! A plus is the use of rechargable AA batterys, in a pinch you can use store bought batterys. The zoom works perfectly and the camera can be only be desreibed as almost perfect, if there was one with a metal body I would rate this a perfect camera. What is nice is the AUTO feature! If you have never had a camera before you can get fantastic photos by just selecting the auto feature and clicking! If you are advanced or an expert you can select from over 16 options to customize your photo. In my opinion you cant get a better camera but I really was not happy with the plastic construction I really like aluminum bodys because they feel like quality. For its price and quality this is the best on the market from one of the best companys on earth, you cant do wrong with this one at all! Watch the prices and search around..I paid too much for mine! The UN-SLR

Pros: Does most of what an SLR will do, good price, high pixel count, great color, 30x zoom

    Cons: no anti-shake feature

I confess! I love this camera. And here's some good news from a review in the June '06 MacWorld: the E900 won the "Top Product" award in their review of point-and-shoot digital cameras. The image quality won raves. See page 28. Also... there was a review in PC World for July including the E900 in their list of the top 100 products - see page 96. The October 17th PC Magazine on page 47 rates it highly, as well. Just saw the November 06 Consumer Reports which gave the E900 a "Best Buy" rating in the advanced compact camera class. As well, the December 06 MacWorld placed it in their Top Products list on page 56. Phew! I'm tired already - and there is still one more very favorable review to mention: PC Magazine for December 06 on page 84 placed it in their top five cameras (and the only point and shoot) list. This was in their 2006 best selection. So, you can see, this camera comes highly recommended! Another thing I just learned after using the E900 is that it not only has an optical viewfinder, but when you look in it when zooming (up to 30X) you see the zoom in the viewfinder as well as on the screen on the back of the unit. I never expected that from an optical viewfinder in a point-and-shoot camera! Of course, I loved my 1963 VW beetle, too. The connection: they're both a little homely - but superbly functional. The Fuji Finepix E900 has an acclaimed lens (my shots at F2.8 were unexpectedly sharp), extreme pixel count for a point-and-shoot camera, ease of use on automatic (but the 130 page owners manual is worth reading on a rainy afternoon), 30X total zoom, VGA quality video for up to 15 minutes at 30 fps with sound (with 1GB xD card), total control with Manual, Shutter and Aperture priority, several Auto modes. The menus are extensive but logical and after a bit become easy to navigate. Manual focus! Flash suppression, too. On a camera that fits in the palm of your hand, easy to carry at the ready with quick startup time. A good accessory: The AC power supply to use while uploading files (frames) to your computer. Bad news to lose power during the process. Just 2 seconds upload time for each 9 Megapixel image. With the 1 Gigabyte xD card I use, there are over 200 such shots available. For 5 MP, there are over 800 shots! For serious amateurs and professionals this camera has a feature usually found in SLRs: it will produce images in RAW format! This means someone with a powerful image editing software can do more remarkable things with their photos than one can do with JPEG or other formats. In Picassa, the photo editing software from Google, using the zoom bar allowed amazing magnification from the highest resolution shots whilst retaining sharpness and color. Remember that scene from the film "Blade Runner" with Harrison Ford where he takes a photo and directs his computer to do enormous magnification of the image to help him get a clue? You can nearly do that with this kind of resolution and pixel count. Hint: for uploading images to blogs, etc., use no more than the 5MP resolution - the site may choke on the higher resolutions. Well, let them eat cake! You've got a high res camera now, baby! Read more Less

    Pros: has a viewfinder

    Cons: viewfinder is too small

It's good looking, small, heavy and solid. Intuitive, really easy to work in auto, takes a bit of menu working to figure out almost everything else. Shoots raw for professional attitude, has amazing file size and picture quality, great colour bal...ance and sharpness. I've dropped mine several times and it's proven itself very rugged. I have a suspicion there's a little 'barrelling' on the lens that wasn't there when I got it out of the box. I've recommended this camera to everyone I've met who's interested, several have bought the same and all rate it as highly as I do. I wish the viewfinder was better but basically I love it. Love my little fuji

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 20, 2006 | 2 out of 3 found this Fujifilm FinePix E900 review helpful

Pros: small compact, long battery life, high mp, manual and auto

    Cons: flash, shutter lag

I have had this camera for about 6 months now and still love it. I am happy with everything overall. There are a few things like noise at higher iso's and shutterlag when using a fast shutter speed that are a bit annoying. The flash takes some ge...tting used to but you can manually suppress it and adjust the brightness etc... I love the natural light setting for quick shots even in darker light conditions. At this price it's a bargain. My picture quality is great and the 9mp allows for tighter cropping if needed. I love the manual settings which give you more creative freedom. I would recommend this camera to anyone wanting a point and shoot with nice features. I have a ton of photos taken with camera posted on flickr, so you can go see for yourself. Read more Less

    amazing camera

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 3, 2007 | 1 out of 1 found this Fujifilm FinePix E900 review helpful

Pros: image quality in adequate lighting, price, ease of use

Cons: image quality in bad lighting, shutter lag, body

Overall, this is an amazing camera. When I first got mine last year I don't think that I knew what I was getting myself into. At that time, the camera ran around 400 so I didn't really know what to expect except 9 megapixels, which is definit...ely welcoming. The first thing that got me was the ease of use. I loved how I could just pick it up (being an amateur photographer) and take amazing photographs. After a while you become spoiled in the fact that you have a camera this small with that much image quality..but that's the deal breaker I think. Now-a-days cameras are coming out with 10.1 megapixels and they are smaller then the E900 and that's really all that the camera has going for it. None-the-less, this is a good back-up-take-to-the-park camera when you don't want to lug that big SLR around your neck. Read more Less
