The A400 features a 3.0x Optical Zoom with a focal range equivalent of 38mm - 114mm compared to 35mm film. Bring your subject closer and clearer with high quality Fujinon lens technology. For added range, add the 3.6x Digital Zoom to get a Total Zoom range of 10.8x.
The FinePix A400 makes it possible for you to get that picture even if you forget or fill up your xD-Picture Card. With internal memory built into the A400, now you will never have to miss that special shot. Think of it as your internal insurance policy for photo opportunities.
The A400 is technology made easy. Designed with ease of use as a priority, the controls on the camera have been designed for simple, one-handed operation. With an optical viewfinder and 1.8" LCD even the first time digital camera user will get incredible shots from the beginning.
Everything you need to get started including two AA alkaline batteries and a USB (mini-B) cable for easy computer connectivity are all in the box. Simply put your batteries in, power up the camera, set the date and time and you're ready to start taking pictures. It couldn't be easier.

Pros: Easy Use, the quality of the camera is very good.
Cons: From past experiences, the lense does break easily, and it takes an extra two seconds to take a photo.
I've had this camera for a few years now, and I've loved it! At first, I was young and didn't really think much of the technology of a digital camera, but as I got older, I understood more (I'm 14 now) so it worked out very good for me!
I brought it into school one day, and was taking pictures before class had started. The lense jammed and an error message came on the screen that said 'Focus Error' or 'Zoom Error'. This was a dissappointment, as I did nothing whatsoever to damage the camera in anyway. There is a chance that I could've 'bumped' the camera and as it was focusing to take the picture, it jammed, but I don't know.
But before that happened, the camera was wonderful! I could take clear photos (especially outside) and much more. The only thing that it was missing that I would've really enjoyed, was a Black&White feature, or a Sepia feature. I love taking black and white pictures! Other than that, it's a great camera for travelers, or just normal people who love taking pictures.
I've also read other reviews on this camera from other sites, that when you look at your previous photos, in order to take another photo, you have to shut the camera off. This is NOT true! You do NOT have to shut the camera off in order to take another picture after looking through previous pictures! All you have to do is lightly press the shutter release button half way down, and it'll go to the screen to take a picture.
I wouldn't reccommend this camera to profesional photographers, but I would definately reccommend this camera to a friend!
