    Pros: suepr live performance

Cons: sometimes audio is not so good

The live performance was so great because it give you a chance to experience live nirvana. Sure, someparts were not as together as others, but thats how live concerts are.

When Krist and Dave compiled this album they didnt put the best souding live songs on this cd. They should have had more songs from Reading 92 in my opinion that was one of Nirvanas greatest shows that and halloween 91. Also this album is a little sh...ort 54 minutes come on guys you should have but more rarities on the disc. Bootleggers have done a better job than geffen and the remaining members of nirvana did on this album. Thats all i have to say about this album Read more Less

Pro Reviews: From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah

  • All Music Guide

From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah is the second posthumous Nirvana record, an attempt to capture Nirvana at the peak of its powers on stage. That doesn't necessarily mean all the band's bestknown songs are here "Come as You Are," "All Apologies," and "About a Girl" are all absent but it does mean that this is the closest representation to what Nirvana sounded like onstage. It may not be perfect and it's a little scattershot due to its varied source material (the tapes were recorded anywhere between 1989 and 1994), but it's still a terrific record, thanks to a sharp selection of performances and a set list that relies on Bsides, album tracks, and album favorites, highlighting the group at its best. It's not necessary, but it still finds a great band in top form.

After the band's second album, 1991's Nevermind, nothing was ever quite the same, for better and for worse. Nirvana popularized punk, postpunk, and indie rock, unintentionally bringing it into the American main... Read more
