Synopsis: Friends (1971)

A 15-year-old neglected English boy is left to roam the streets of Paris. Eventually he meets an orphaned French girl and together they leave behind their lives of misery for the idyllic setting of a remote cottage. Sequel: "Paul and Michelle."

    This movie is wonderfully endearing. The relationship that develops between Paul and Michelle has a quality of innocence that only exists in childhood, and their feelings for each other blossom into a caring and unending love that everyone wishes to... find in life. Everything in the movie is so beautiful: the actors' portrayal of the characters, the southern rural French setting, Elton John's score . . . my parents loved "Friends" back in the '70s, and thirty years later the movie has found another fan in me.     This movie has such wonderful music, that is the reason I rented it. Elton John's song 'Friends" along with several other songs that you will NEVER hear of Elton's go so well with the depth and the taboo of this film. Rent the movie for the music, ...be surprised by the content. Read more Less
