Having had the chance to just recently screen the first season box set, I have to say I'm impressed. I was only ever a casual viewer, but I was consistently impressed by a solid first season, with only a couple of misses. The real winner here, howe...ver, is the incredible features packaged in this boxed set. The recent trend towards repackaging TV Shows by season has produced some truly impressive sets (as well as some not-so-impressive ones), and Friends: Season One continues this trend. The commentary is insightful, the cut sequences are sure to delight hardcore fans, and the interactive map is very well done. The DVD producers could have easily sat on their laurels and let the episodes sell the set... it's gratifying that they pulled out the stops to make this a must have set. Read more Less

FINALLY! The 1st season of Friends is on DVD and I give it a definite 5 STARS! AND IT IS GREAT!!!!! Now we have to wait for the rest of the series on DVD! It will be worth the wait though...

I couple of months back I bought my new DVD player. I saw Friends at all DVD shops I went to. My first impression was that it should be something nice since just every shop had it. But I did not buy it for the reason it had too many volumes and I con...sidered the cost issue. But, then finally 2 weeks back, I bought the First Season and finished it spending the day and night of Sunday. Next day, i.e. the Monday, I bought all seasons ... no regrets at all. While it is the greatest comedy series ever, yet at the same time it is like a window to the American culture. There were just too many question marks in my mind about the American social life - but I guess, I love this way of life too. I receommend every one reading these lines to go ahead and see them all.
