King Prawn's brand of hardcore-flavored ska began to incorporate dub reggae into the mix on Fried in London, their second album. Featuring the anti-police rant "Racist Copper," the thrashing "Not Your Punk," and the tight and intense "Survive," this album became a very popular item among fans of the genre upon its original release. The band does a good job incorporating the various genres into their sound. The only real problem is that, at times, the songs are simply not that catchy and come off rather flat. Still, with such a glut of ska and punk bands in the music scene at the time, this definitely stands out due to the exuberant performances and variety in the material. This may not be essential, but to those looking for some decent ska to add to their collection, there are a lot worse albums to get than Fried in London.
