This movie is the story of Frida, a young painter who has a lot of great and tragic things happen in her life. Crippled in a Bus accident when she is very young, Frida shruggled to regain her indipendence. She falls in love with a famous Playboy/Pain...ter and travels all over the world with and without him. She is in constant pain but is always finding joy in life. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A CHIC FLICK!! I REPEAT NOT A CHIC FLICK!! This movie is very funny very sexy and very romantic the chicks will love that. but its great for guys too becasue its anything but boring. I suggest to any guy to rent this to watch with your girl on a Friday night. It will have them laughing and crying. Plus you'll get bonus points for picking an artsy and mushy movie all at the same time!! Bottom line: Rent or buy this movie you will not be disappointed. Wonderful photography and digital montages bridge the gap between Frida's life and her art. Seriously great acting, terrific visuals. 100% free of Hollywood star vehicle crap. An important movie about art and a significant artist. Hayek is Frida,... not a star playing her. The difference is impressive. Read more Less

Loved it, great and fairly accurate story. Such pretty color and sound - immersed me in the sea of the time. Remarkable sets, costumes, music, and the performances were Academy-worthy -regardless of nominations and awards. A beautiful movie that I... will puchase for my personal library. Read more Less

i loved it. It was great performance. She tock me to the time and the pain and the suffering that frida was expose to and i learn more that a book.
