Pros: GREAT MOVIE, REESE WAS GREAT
Cons: NOT ON ENOUGH CABLE
I JUST LOVED THIS MOVIE, FINALLY A WOMAN TAKING OVER A MAN, SHE REALLY DID HIM IN. WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT ON T.V. THANKS, KAREN ROSE
Pros: Just a kick to watch
Cons: Not for the weak at heart
Funnier than hell if you're into dark irony and sick humor. If you tend to take things to heart, then it's probably not for you. Reese somehow manages to pull off a sweet and naive (but surprisingly street smart) ass-kicker, while Kiefer perfectly portrays the sick, demented psychopath that we all fear. At it's very least, it's a disturbing modern-day version of the tale of "Little Red Riding Hood." At it's worst... Well, if you find it shocking, you should probably just stick with the evening news.
Great! Morbid, comical, dramatic, suspenseful. Excellent theme. Good chemistry amongst characters. Believable.
It was one of the best movie ever Saw cause Reese Witherspoon is in it!!
If this was supposed to be a drama, I give one star. There was nothing realistic about this film. The situation were dumb and it was just plain silly.
But...
...if it was supposed to be some kind of twisted dark comedy, give it 4 stars. If your watching it with the your mind set on it being a comedy, than it can entertain you and make you laugh.
My problem was when I saw it, my mind was set on it being a drama, so I though it was horrible. My friend told me to watch it again with my mind set on it being a comedy. I did and found rather entertaining.
with a date,thinking "what the
This and "Mullholland" are two works of art.
This movie is wonderful, we rented it once out of curiosity and now we rent it for three weeks at a time. 'Freeway' is funny, depressing (only sometimes) and definatly twisted. You can watch it OVER and OVER again and still laugh and be shocked. I was never a fan of Reese's until I saw Freeway- now I respect her and her EXCELLENT acting- nice work Reese!
Reese Witherspoon is so awesome i love her in this movie she is so cool how she acts!
i luv this movie it was so good i have to go out a buy it. actors were cool.must rent movie
It starts out great. Our little red riding hood is the child of a crack whore, and who's step-dad is an ex-con. They get arrested, ans she runs off to grandmother's house. Then the big bad wolf picks her up, and everything goes downhill. The story gets kind of confused, and falls slightly apart, though the bit with Mrs.Wolf is funny. Starts great, but fizzles a bit at the end. Kiefer is great at death scenes though (so much practice!!).
Little Red Riding Hood told in the style of
Natural Born Killers. With Oliver Stone as one of the
producers and screenwriter Mathew Bright in his directorial
debut.
Reese Witherspoon gives a performance worthy
of sainthood, as Vanessa Julia Lutz; a hard-edge
teenage Texas transplant who (after her mother and
stepfather are arrested in the film's opening scene for
prostitution and parole violation respectively) spends most of
the film basically trying to survive the rigors of
California's "kid who commit crime do adult time" mentality
after shooting Sutherland's "Big Bad" Bob Wolverton
character.
This is 90's exploitation (i.e. Jerry Springer) done
with an Oliver Stone/Tarentino sensability that works,
and shines in every direction. Many subtlties and
obsceneties later, we find out that a 15yo illiterate
white-trash girl has a billion times more moral character
than any of us.
[From a scene where Vanessa is
being interrogated by the LA County Sherriff's Dept
after shooting Sutherland's
character]
<Detective Wallace> Vanessa, you have an opportunity now
to clear your conscience.
<Vanessa> I told
the truth...And truth is eternal..
But the
best (read: my favorite) scene's in the movie would
have to be the courtroom scenes. In the first,
Sutherland's character is wheeled into the courtroom. His face
is horribly disfigured from the
shooting.
<Vanessa> Holy
<her attorney> Are you out of your
mind?
<Vanessa> You are so UGLY Bob! You know this is gonna cramp
your style with the babes big time. Don't you?
Especially little Miss Priss over there [referring to Brooke
Shields as Sutherland's arrogant wife].
And who
could pass up the opportunity to see awful things
happen to Brooke? I won't give away the details, but,
let's just say I want to make greeting cards out of the
graphic shot of Brooke splattered all over a
wall.
See this movie. You will find yourself quoting
Vanessa's brilliant dialogue, or your money back!
