Francisco Regueiro

Spanish filmmaker Francisco Regueiro was a major figure in the New Spanish Cinema movement of the '60s. Before becoming a director, Regueiro studied business, law, and journalism, and was honored for his short fiction. Following graduation from the Instituto de Investigaciones y Experiencias Cinematográficas in 1961, Regueiro wrote several scripts; most did not pass muster with the era's strict censors, while others remained unfilmed due to financial problems.
