Yes... Mono is everything what the boys and girls above say it is..
And It is as anusual..
I have been a music freak for many years now and I have heard just about everything that was meant to make a sound; American, Asian, Australian, African, European, Etc.
The sounds and vocals of mono open the mind to an every mood it craves. A real treat.
Once I poped this one in my cd player my mind was infected with the true colors it was ment to see.

I love this album.
Mono's music is unusually beautiful and relaxing. Its the kind of music you'll want to listen, while you lay in bed at night. i heard the song "life in mono" over the radio, and instantly loved it. i bought the album and the first time when i listened, it gave me an irresitable feeling, releasing the isolated realms of my inner thoughts. "the stranger" was one great indescrible number where you can hear echos all over the room in the middle of a quiet night if you had a good hi-fi system. "high life" brings you to yet another world (as if you're in a strange holiday mood). "silicone" and "life in mono" gives you a feel of being "in a trance". There are a lot of 'alternative' albums around, but one would find "formica blues" thrilling even after listening to it many many times. Strongly recommended for those who enjoy 'trance' and 'alternative' music!

...very few artists capture what it's really all about ~ the human condition. The words and the melodies here, in more or less every song on this cd evoke the deep sense of isolation and loss we all experience at one time or another. Then there is "hope" in the Bacarach chord changes, the major 7ths, and the minor diminished... and she sings in a way that tears your stomach apart.
