Mizz Abdul's first release was nothing short of a miracle.
Catchy tunes, smart productions and talented backup vocalists makes this cd palpable. Being that her voice is not a strong one, she could get lost in the music, but that's not the case. Because of her producers, she was able to maintain a modicum of restraint in her work. Example: Knocked Out-the song written, by LA, Babyface & Darryl Simmons proved, that even with the slightest hint of a touch up, her voice needed improvement. Backing her up on this song was Pebbles, Yvette Marine, Darryl Simmons & Babyface, she knew how to keep up. She had some real good songs like "Straight Up", "Cold Hearted", "Opposites Attract" and I don't care what anybody says "Next To You" is a slamming song. Working with backup singers like Delisa Davis (Shalamar fame), Pebbles, Yvette Marine (Mary Jane Girls), Face and among others, this album is good, but could be better if she had vocal training.

Paula Abdul has always been my favourite! even as a child I loved listening to her great songs! This and other albums like "Shut Up and Dance" and "Spellbound" are really great albums from the lates 80s to early 90s!! She is a woman with alot of talent!!

Her debut album is definetly the best album of the 80s. All the songs are great. She is the only singer who can sing so well, dance, choreograph and do it all with style!

I was enspired when I first heard her music. I would always sing her songs in class and even a couple of my friends would say I looked like her because of my height and the way I wore my hair.
She is a very beutifull person inside and outside and she should continue to do what she is doing.
