... I have never heard an artist with so much lyrical depth; I am still deciphering metaphors, laughing at imagery, subdued by deep connections and floored with homonym-use ... This man is something like A GENIUS ... All the hits you may have heard on-air like "Kick-Push, I Gotcha, and Daydreamin'" are just the tip of this lyrical lancet ... Songs like "Just Might Be Okay" and "Pressure" really put his deft lyricism on display ...
... Unfortunately, the album leaked and many of the songs I was hoping to hear released, were never put on the album ... These include "The Alternate "Intro"", Ghetto Story", and "A Hustlaz Song" ... These are now delegated to the realm of underground-classics ...

This is still a very strong album that will stand the test of time; However, with the inclusion of a handful of leaked songs, especially the original "intro", this album may have come-in second on my list of top Hip-Hop albums: Right after Common's Resurrection ...Was this review helpful? Finally, a rapper who's not about publicity or sells ghetto shoes. On this album, my favorite song is "I Gotcha" because his flowing shows creativity, passion and reality as we see everyday. Lupe Fiasco is a household name that'll be around for a long time. There's not a bad bone in his body or rap. I think there are a few controversial rappers who'll get stomped by this guy's killer style and individuality.

When I first heard this young rapper on Kayne West hit "Touch the sky", I knew this man could flow. Being a child brought up on the beginning of Hip Hop, this album makes me smile. Lupe has an incredible flow with clever skills to tell a story while you groove to these nice tunes. One track that stands out to me is Daydream", features no other than Jill Scott! Beautiful music and great message in this song shouldn't be missed. If you enjoy a good sounding positive RAP! THIS ONE FOR YOU!!

This is the best album of 2006. It is already one ot greatest albums of all time. This album is a great return to old school hip hop sound and production which is a great thing. It is reminds me of a tribe called quest, black sheep, epmd, and pete rock & cl smooth when they were in their prime. The album is has various production styles which allows lupe fiasco rhymes to become stronger and more vary as the album progresses. A lot of so-called rap artists so should listen to this album and take notes on how to format and present an album to the general public of hip-hop and mainstream without compromising your music and who you are. This is the best album since the miseducation of lauryn hill, and the album real hip hop fans have waiting for. i hope the album receives the commerical success and accolades that it deserves.

Lupe Fiasco cd food and liquor is different then what I listen to but I find myself listing to it everyday its a real good cd from his lyrics to his style of music its real good.
